How to delete CMS collection in Webflow
Deleting a CMS collection in Webflow involves a few steps to ensure that the collection and its associated content are removed properly. Follow these steps:
Step 1: Access Your Webflow Project
- Log in to your Webflow account.
- From your Dashboard, select the project that contains the CMS collection you want to delete.
Step 2: Open the Webflow Designer
- Inside your selected project, click on the "Designer" button. This will open the Webflow Designer interface where you can edit your website visually.
Step 3: Access the CMS Collection
- In the Designer, click on the "Collections" tab in the left panel. This will display a list of all CMS collections in your project.
- Find and click on the CMS collection you want to delete. This will open the collection's settings.
Step 4: Delete Collection Items
- In the collection settings, you'll see a list of items within the collection.
- Before you delete the collection, you need to delete all items within it. Click on each item and then click the "Delete" button for each one. Confirm the deletion.
Step 5: Remove Collection References
- If you have any references to this collection in other parts of your project (like CMS Lists or Collection Lists), you need to remove them before deleting the collection.
Step 6: Delete the Collection
- Once all items and references are removed, go back to the collection settings.
- In the collection settings, scroll to the bottom and click the "Delete Collection" button.
Step 7: Confirm Deletion
- A confirmation window will appear, asking you to confirm the deletion. This action is irreversible, so make sure you're certain about deleting the collection.
- If you're sure you want to proceed, click the "Delete Collection" button in the confirmation window.
Step 8: Publish Your Changes
- If you're satisfied with your edits, click the "Publish" button located at the top of the Webflow Designer to make your changes live on your website.
Congratulations! You've successfully deleted a CMS collection in Webflow. Remember that deleting a collection also removes all associated data, so be careful and ensure that you have a backup if needed.
